Acoutic Guitar Abuse Invades Cottonwood!
National touring instrumental fingerstyle guitarist, Bill Dutcher, will be showcasing his latest release, "Finding Time", at the Old Town Center for the Arts on Saturday, November 14th, at 7:30PM. Bill’s concert will be the culminating event for a day of activities in Old Town Cottonwood that features the 2nd Annual ‘Walkin’ on Main’ event. Between 11 AM and 5:00 PM Main Street in Old Town will be transformed from a thorough fare to a festive fair of local arts, wineries, live music and interactive eco games for kids. Come down to Old Town, enjoy the celebration and stay for Bill’s concert.
It is said that Bill Dutcher plays brutally honest acoustic music. In his hands, acoustic instruments transform into palettes of tones and textures that propel his multi-faceted compositions to the forefront of solo guitar. His compositions take each listener on their own journey that provides a sense of escape for the mind. Bill has spent over 25 years composing and performing. His passion for music has made him a very versatile professional entertainer. Bill’s talents include: six-string, twelve-string, hawaiian guitar, and the rare harp guitar.
When performing live, Bill’s intensity shines through as he visually assaults the strings and sonically leaves listeners perplexed. Exotic tunings, two-handed tapping and percussive techniques, along with his ability to keep listeners captivated, has won over audiences nationwide. Bill’s commitment to music along with his stage experience offers a unique entertainment presentation that shatters the common perception of solo acoustic guitar music.
Bill Dutcher is the recipient of the 2008 Phoenix Music Award for Best Adult Contemporary Artist of the Year.
