Celebrate Bob Dylan’s Birthday, with a Concert of Dylan Music

The Old Town Center for the Arts is pleased to announce that our Annual Bob Dylan Birthday Concert will be held on Saturday, May 18, from 7:00 to 10:00 pm.

Since 2006, this annual celebration of the musical legacy of Bob Dylan, performed by some of the best musicians in the Sedona/Verde Valley area (and beyond), has been one of the most popular music events in all of northern Arizona. The 2024 edition promises to live up to that high standard.

Bob Dylan, an American singer-songwriter, author, visual artist, Grammy winner, Academy Award winner, Nobel Prize laureate, and countless other accolades, is regarded as one of the greatest songwriters and musicians of all time. He has been a major figure in popular culture spanning the past 60+ years.

This year’s performers include the Jerome Ukulele Orchestra, Tyler Barrett, Gary Every, Robin Miller, Brandon Decker, Tim Young, Ray DeSylvester and Suzie Schomaker, and the House Band, the Mystery Tramps - Joe Neri, Larry Hill, Hutch Hutchinson and Alan Albert.

“The first half of this year’s concert will be all acoustic,” Neri states, “paying homage to the acoustic roots of Bob Dylan. The second half will be all electric, in the tradition of Bob’s famous Rolling Thunder Revue. It should have a little and even a lot for everybody. Gonna be a very fun and entertaining show.”

Bob Dylan will be 83 years old on May 24. Joe Neri, almost but not quite that old, was born on the same date. And, although Bob and Joe have had dramatically different musical journeys, both men are still enjoying the satisfying lives of gigging musicians.

This event is sponsored by the Best Western Cottonwood Inn.
