Since 2002, Oak Creek Vineyards & Winery has been crafting a broad range of fine wines, helping put northern Arizona’s Verde Valley on the wine map. Our ten-acre, high desert estate vineyard sits at a 3,400-foot elevation and borders Oak Creek, which runs along Page Springs Road, home to our winery. In the vineyard, we grow everything from Chardonnay, Merlot and Zinfandel to Syrah and Tempranillo, as well as making Fume Blanc, Pinot Gris, Grenache Blanc, Cream Sherry, Port and several proprietary blends from both estate and purchased grapes.

The Los Angeles based New West Guitar Group comes to Old Town on Saturday, March 19th for a special concert at Old Town Center for the Arts at 7:00 pm.

Featuring John Stein, John Storie and Will Brahm, the New West has been making their mark as a fresh, cutting edge guitar ensemble. Performing popular covers and original music, the New West Guitar Group combines the acoustic and electric guitar to create their signature sound. The group tours throughout the United States giving concerts and Master classes.

The concert is sponsored by Oak Creek Vineyards & Winery and the Cottonwood Best Western Inn. The Oak Creek Vineyards & Winery will provide complimentary tastings of their finely crafted wine, from grapes grown on their ten-acre desert estate vineyard that borders Oak Creek. The wine tasting will begin at 6:15 PM and the concert starts at 7:00 PM.

The New West Guitar Group (NWGG) has developed a wide spread reputation as one of the premier guitar ensembles in the world. Featuring guitarists Perry Smith (NYC) John Storie (LA) and Will Brahm (LA), NWGG performs classic pop covers, jazz standards and exciting originals. Their signature sound comes from an innovative style that highlights rhythm, beauty and virtuosity through combining acoustic and electric guitars. Smith and Storie founded the group 10 years and today they continue to tour as a trio with Brahm throughout the United States and abroad.

In August of 2015, New West Guitar Group released their new project Send One Your Love on Summit Records. The recording features guest vocalists: Gretchen Parlato, Sara Gazarek, Becca Stevens, Tierney Sutton and Peter Eldridge. Downbeat Magazine gave this CD the prestigious Editor's Pick in their August 2015 issue.

Praised as “sharp and refined” by the Seattle Times, the New West Guitar Group has released five instrumental albums over the last 10 years. Each project features their unique style of laid-back virtuosity through expert arrangements crafted by the members of the group. Their music is regularly featured on NPR and jazz radio stations, while their repertoire is performed throughout the country by college and high school guitar programs. Graduates of USC’s Thornton School of Music, the New West Guitar Group's versatility as players and composers have given them a reputation as pioneers in the realm of guitar ensemble.

Over the years, New West Guitar Group has piled up numerous awards and accolades, and has enjoyed broad international exposure. Before they even finished school at USC, they were the first group to receive the coveted Thornton Protégé Grant. During this same period, the Los Angeles Sister Cities Committee honored the group as musical ambassadors of L.A. – which in turn created the opportunity for them to perform at the 2005 World Expo in Nagoya, Japan, and the 2007 German - American Volksfest in Berlin. They have continued to perform in major venues throughout the U.S. and Canada, Europe and Asia.

Here’s a unique opportunity to hear this award winning guitar ensemble and experience some fine wine in the ambient vintage elegance of Old Town Center for the Arts, on Saturday, March 19th, 7:00 pm.

This NWGG is the second in the Tilted Earth Festival Concert series. The Tilted Earth Festival is a celebration of summer and community, and will be held at Riverfront Park in Cottonwood, June 16 – 18th. The festival is known for its live music and large selection of wineries and breweries.
