A Musical Journey along the Verde River Waterway

How often can Music be called "picturesque"? On Saturday, November 6, at 7:30 PM flutist, Sunny Heartley will present “A Musical Journey along the Verde River Waterway”, a multi-media concert and visual presentation at The Old Town Center for the Arts in Old Town Cottonwood. The concert will be a celebration of Sunny's latest DVD on the Verde River and his latest CD entitled "My Heart", that was called “a master musician’s work from the heart,” by Joe Neri of the Well Red Coyote bookstore in Sedona.

It’s been said that music is the “glue” that holds our universe together? Can we create music that evokes visions of our future?  Does music have healing qualities? Sunny Heartley believes all things are possible through music and the vibration created with the tones of music, and he is completely devoted to recreating the deepest vibrations of the soul. Sunny's inspiring original “Native Heart” Flute music CD evokes the deepest feelings of well being and a profound sense of wonder and adventure through the heart. Listeners of the sonorous tones of Sunny’s flutes should expect to be transported, uplifted, and carried to new inner places!

This concert will be a special opportunity for audience members to see and preview the visual arts of Sunny Heartley, as he will be performing a soundtrack to images he filmed during this past summer. Sunny will have his brand new DVD “The Heart of the Verde Valley, A Musical Journey Along the Verde River Waterway”, available at the concert.

Sunny Heartley is a flautist, recording artist, producer, composer, and the craftsman of his own custom designed Indigenous wooden flutes, known as Sun-Heart Flutes. He uses his own hand-made flutes exclusively, and it is likely he will perform with up to 15 flutes.

Sunny's performances around the Southwest have garnered accolades and satisfied audience members who have received him warmly. In 2005 he was awarded The Peoples Choice Award for Best New Meditation and Healing CD for his work on the "Sound Vibrational Healing Vol.#1", released by Etherean Music. The award was given by the International New Age Trade Show in Denver, CO.

He has since Recorded and released a follow up to SVH Vol.#1, called "The 72 names of God". This CD has been received with great accolades, as it incorporates all of the sound principles of his previous CD, but it takes a new turn, and enters the realm of the Hebrew language and the actual vibration of that alphabet, and the “72 Names of GOD”.

William Olson of Illinois exclaimed, “He is my new favorite. I have ordered flutes from Sunny and then I got “My Heart” the CD...WOW he is GREAT!” The CD “My Heart” took almost two years to finish, and as Sunny says, "I am so grateful that the sounds I have heard in my soul and my heart for so long are finally accessible to me, and I can create the music I hear in my heart". " Sunny believes that  “Music is the wine that fills the chalice of silence.”

Take some time to relax, forget your problems, hear soothing flute music and see beautiful images of the Verde River at the Old Town Center for the Arts, Saturday, November 6th at 7:30 PM. Old Town Center for the Arts is located at 5th Street & Main in Old Town Cottonwood.

Other accolades for Sunny's music have been:

"very soothing"
"a sound track for the relaxed part of your life"
"calms me to a place I have not journeyed before,"
“I knew that there had to be a bridge between all the spiritual and healing paths, I say Bless you and Thank You Sunny Heartley for the musical bridge...."
“I cannot find more relaxing music than the amazing sounds that emit from his flutes"
”he just takes you places musically you never expected to go...”
