Carl Norman Hull and Friends
Benefit Concert

Tuesday, March 2nd, 7:00 PM

$10 advance $12 door, $10 Seniors

Carl Norman Hull will be performing a benefit concert at the Old Town Center for the Arts on Tuesday, March 2nd at 7pm. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the “Starving Musicians Fund” which Carl set up to assist musicians in the Verde Valley who are struggling financially amidst these tough economic times. Carl is a pianist, singer, songwriter who hails from the Midwest, and also spent ten years in Nashville, Tennessee. While there, he performed on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry with several country music greats including among others: Hank Snow, Marty Robbins, Skeeter Davis and Del Reeves. His most recent CD entitled “The Journey” received reported airplay on 135 radio stations around the country.

Carl is a self-confessed hopeless romantic and will be performing original music along with renditions of several romantic ballads from the Beatles, Elton John, Dan Fogelberg, and others. He will be accompanied by local musicians John Robusto and Michael Gilbert, who bring years of musical experience with them to the Old Town Center for the Arts.

Carl’s musical style is somewhat difficult to categorize, as there is only a hint of country flavor amidst the soft rock, classical and light jazz. Less is more, in that he does not attempt to create a wall of sound, but instead a natural and relaxing vibe that resonates with the listener and helps to create a feeling of well being. His lyrics are heartfelt and his between song dialogues provide an introspective glimpse into the ideas and emotions that fuel his songwriting efforts. His unashamed approach in sharing his own failings serves as a reflection and encouragement to others who find times they are struggling themselves.
