New Musical Dramedy
The Dead Quilters Society, a new musical dramedy, tells the real stories of five women from the Verde Valley and Northern Arizona, and explores the ripple effects of their actions on our community, some of which are still evident today. These interwoven stories come together to create the fabric of our community.
The historical women whose stories will be told in this production are Marguerite Staude, Katie Lee, Annie Wauneka, Dora Chavez Madrid, and Fanny Gulick. The original cast will return and reprise their roles: well known television actress Gail Edwards (Marguerite Staude), Shondra Jepperson (Katie Lee), Samantha Noelle (Annie Wauneka), Dev Ross (Dora Chavez Madrid), and Lisa Glinsky (Fanny Gulick.)
The Dead Quilters Society is written by Emmy and Humanitas Award-winning playwright Dev Ross. Lyrics and original music are by award-winning Shondra Jepperson. The cast is accompanied on guitar, bass mandolin and banjo by the phenomenally talented Reno and Sheila McCormick.
